Twiga has several Projects.
For three Schools in the Msambweni area we are a structural partner. Which means that we support them all the way. Not only with class rooms, material and extra teachers (regular and remedial), but also by improving together with them the teaching standards and methods. In order to do this you need a close co-operation between Twiga, the management of the school, the teachers and the parents.
New projects are selected on this basis as well.
Besides the support of the schools we select promising students, real 'Twiga's' (which means Giraffe in Swahili). Children that really stand out and can develop themselves personally and educational. 'Personally' means that they can play a future role in their own community to support their own environment as much as they can, to become role models themselves.
'Educational' means that they can grow to university level and choose a profession with a real future.
Twiga is also concerned with the social and employment circumstances in Msambweni. That is why we also support projects that improve both of them. But our focus is mainly on children and their future.
